Best OverallBest if you want RAM headroom

Best Upgrade PathBest for graphic design and photo editing

Best for DesignWhat the best laptop for video editing needs in 2026 (and why prices jumped)
A video-editing laptop needs 16GB of RAM, a dedicated NVIDIA GPU and a screen whose colours you can trust. For 1080p YouTube, Reels and wedding highlights, an RTX 3050 keeps the timeline smooth. For 4K multicam, even that card needs proxy files, according to Evetech’s 2026 DaVinci Resolve test.
Tom’s Guide’s 2026 RAM guide, written by a working editor, calls 16GB the floor and 32GB the target for 4K, and says Resolve’s Fusion page wants 32GB. Adobe’s own requirements page would not load for us, so treat those figures as third-party guidance.
Screen gamut is the spec most listings hide. A 45% NTSC panel looks washed out, so the colours you grade will not match what viewers see on phones. A 100% sRGB panel covers what YouTube and Instagram show. 100% DCI-P3 is wider still, which suits photo and cinema work. If you buy a weak panel, a calibrated external sRGB monitor is the cheap fix. Check current prices before budgeting for one.
Prices moved because memory got expensive. Apple raised India MacBook prices around 25 June 2026, citing AI-data-centre demand for memory and storage. IDC puts India’s Q2 2026 PC shipments at 3.9 million units, up 12.1%, but warns about rising DRAM and NAND costs. Omdia forecasts a 22% fall in the second half, and says part of Q2’s growth was stocking ahead of price rises.
You can see it at retail. The ASUS TUF A15 FA506NCG-HN199W was about ₹68,990 on 29 September 2026. On 13 October the cheapest TUF A15 RTX 3050 on Amazon.in was about ₹95,550. If your budget is nearer ₹70,000, our best laptop under ₹70,000 guide covers general-purpose picks. Tighter still? See laptops under ₹60,000.
Lenovo LOQ Essential (RTX 3050 6GB): best for editing on the laptop’s own screen
The LOQ Essential 83S000JCIN is the best screen you can buy in this band with an NVIDIA GPU. It pairs a Ryzen 5 7535HS with an RTX 3050 6GB running at 65W, 16GB of DDR5 and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, at about ~₹89,990 (13 October 2026). The 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel is 144Hz, 300 nits and 100% sRGB, so your grade should hold up on viewers’ phones.
The catch is memory. Amazon.in’s listing shows one 16GB SO-DIMM and a 16GB maximum, so you cannot grow into Fusion work or heavy After Effects later. The SSD has two M.2 slots, which helps with storage. At 1.8kg it is a gaming chassis: expect fan noise when exporting. Amazon’s “% off” is measured against an inflated MRP of ₹2,00,890, so ignore it. The seller was Clicktech Retail and stock showed as available.
Pros
- 100% sRGB, 300-nit screen
- RTX 3050 6GB at 65W
- Two M.2 SSD slots
Cons
- RAM maxes out at 16GB
- 1.8kg gaming chassis

Acer Aspire 7 (RTX 3050 / RTX 4050): best if your projects will grow
The Aspire 7 A715-79G is the laptop to buy if you expect your projects to outgrow 16GB. Its Core 5 210H has 8 cores, and the DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM upgrades to 2×16GB, a 32GB total, while the 512GB SSD can go to 1TB. The RTX 3050 6GB version was about ~₹87,250 on Amazon.in (13 October 2026), the lowest price we found for any RTX 3050 6GB laptop.
The trade-off is the panel. The 15.6-inch 144Hz screen is rated at 45% NTSC, which is weak for grading, so budget for an external sRGB monitor. The RTX 4050 version costs about ~₹98,200, which is ₹10,950 more, and is the cheapest RTX 4050 laptop on Amazon.in that day. Its listing does not state the display gamut. Assume the same panel and check the spec before paying. Every other RTX 4050 listing we saw started at about ₹1,12,360.
Both Aspire listings were sold by third-party sellers, not Acer. Confirm the seller and warranty before paying. Our after-sales service by brand guide explains what to ask.
Pros
- RAM upgradable to 32GB
- Cheapest RTX 3050 6GB and RTX 4050 we found
- SSD upgradable to 1TB
Cons
- 45% NTSC screen
- Third-party sellers on both listings
- 1.99kg

Acer ALG (RTX 3050 4GB): the cheapest real editing laptop
The Acer ALG AL15G-53 is the cheapest NVIDIA-GPU laptop we found on Amazon.in, at about ~₹73,990 (13 October 2026). It has the same Core 5 210H, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD and 45% NTSC 144Hz panel as the Aspire 7, but an RTX 3050 with 4GB of video memory instead of 6GB.
That 4GB is the weak spot. Effects-heavy 1080p timelines and 4K proxies are where you will hit it first. Pick it for simple 1080p cuts, Reels and learning DaVinci Resolve. If you can stretch about ₹13,000 to the Aspire 7 or LOQ, the 6GB card is the safer purchase.
Pros
- Cheapest NVIDIA-GPU laptop we found on Amazon.in
- 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD at the lowest price in this guide
Cons
- 4GB of video memory is the limit on effects-heavy work
- 45% NTSC screen
- Heavy gaming-style chassis

Best laptop for graphic design and photo editing: Motorola Moto Book 60 Pro
For Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator, the Moto Book 60 Pro 83NY000DIN gives you a better screen than any RTX laptop in this guide. It has a 14-inch 2.8K OLED at 120Hz, 100% DCI-P3 and 500 nits, in a 1.39kg body. Flipkart listed it at about ~₹77,990 (13 October 2026), and we found no Amazon.in listing, so Flipkart is the buying route.
The Core Ultra 5 225H uses integrated graphics, so expect slower exports and effects than the RTX laptops. Light 1080p cuts are fine. It has 16GB of DDR5 5600, and Flipkart lists two memory slots, so confirm that before counting on a 32GB upgrade. You also get HDMI 2.1, two USB-C ports, a microSD slot and RJ45. The warranty is one year onsite.
Colour-first work and fast exports pull in opposite directions at this price. In October 2026, the fast GPUs under ₹1 lakh come with weak panels, and the great panels come with integrated graphics. Choose by which job costs you more time.
Pros
- 100% DCI-P3 OLED, the best screen in this guide
- Light 1.39kg body
Cons
- Integrated graphics only
- Slower exports than the RTX laptops

MacBook, Snapdragon or gaming laptop? Which platform to edit on in India
A Windows laptop with an NVIDIA GPU is the best value for most Indian editors in this band, because a MacBook now costs well over ₹1 lakh. Apple’s June 2026 hike took the 13-inch MacBook Air M5 from ₹1,19,900 to ₹1,49,900, and Apple India listed it from ₹1,49,900 on 12 October. The MacBook Neo went from ₹69,900 to ₹79,900.
The Neo has only 8GB of memory. That is fine for CapCut or iMovie at 1080p, and wrong for regular Premiere or Resolve work. If you already know you want a Mac, the Air is the realistic entry point, and it sits outside this guide’s budget.
Snapdragon laptops look tempting. The HP OmniBook 5 OLED he0015QU has a Snapdragon X1-26-100, 16GB, 1TB and a 14-inch OLED at about ~₹88,225 on Amazon.in (13 October 2026). DaVinci Resolve has had a native Windows-on-ARM build since version 19. Premiere Pro ran only under x86 emulation in the latest reports we found, from 2025. We found no 2026 confirmation of a native build, so check Adobe’s Windows-on-ARM page before buying for Premiere.
Gaming laptops are fine for editing. In fact, every NVIDIA pick here is a gaming chassis, because that is where the cheap RTX cards live. Expect louder fans and a short battery, so plan to edit plugged in. Our budget gaming laptops guide covers the same chassis from the gaming side.
Best laptops for video editing compared
Side by side, the LOQ wins on screen, the Aspire 7 on upgrade room and the Moto Book on colour.

Which laptop is right for you (by editing workload)?
YouTube and Reels editors working in 1080p
Buy the Lenovo LOQ Essential. Its RTX 3050 6GB handles 1080p timelines, and the sRGB screen means you can grade on the laptop itself.
Editors who will move to 4K or Fusion work
Buy the Aspire 7, in RTX 4050 form if you can reach ₹98,200, and plan for a 32GB RAM upgrade and an external sRGB monitor.
Beginners on a tight budget
The Acer ALG at about ₹73,990 is enough for learning and simple cuts. Design and media students should also read our laptops for design and media students guide.
Designers and photographers
Buy the Moto Book 60 Pro. Colour accuracy matters more than GPU speed for stills, and the OLED covers 100% of DCI-P3.

- Match the exact model number to the ones in this guide. The same name is sold in cheaper, weaker configurations.
- Check the RAM maximum, not just the installed amount.

Frequently asked questions
How to pick a laptop for video editing?
Picking a video-editing laptop comes down to four checks: 16GB of RAM or more, an NVIDIA GPU with 6GB of video memory, a panel with at least 100% sRGB, and an SSD of 512GB or more. Add RAM upgradability if your projects will grow.
Is 16GB RAM enough for video editing in 2026?
16GB of RAM is enough for 1080p editing in Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, and it is the practical floor. For 4K and Resolve’s Fusion page, third-party guidance such as Tom’s Guide’s 2026 RAM guide recommends 32GB.
Is an RTX 3050 good enough for video editing, or do I need an RTX 4050?
An RTX 3050 6GB is good enough for 1080p editing, and 4K multicam needs proxies on it. An RTX 4050 gives you more headroom and costs about ₹10,950 more in the Aspire 7 (as of 13 October 2026).
Can a gaming laptop be used for video editing?
A gaming laptop is a good video-editing laptop, because it pairs the NVIDIA GPU editing software uses with a fast processor. The drawbacks are weight, fan noise and short battery life.
Do I need an OLED display for colour grading?
An OLED display is not required for colour grading, but you do need a panel with at least 100% sRGB coverage. A 45% NTSC screen is too narrow, and an external sRGB monitor fixes it cheaply.
Is a MacBook worth it for video editing in India now?
A MacBook is worth it only if you already prefer macOS, because the 13-inch MacBook Air M5 now starts at ₹1,49,900 after Apple’s June 2026 hike. The ₹79,900 MacBook Neo has just 8GB of memory.
Can I edit video on a Snapdragon Windows laptop?
A Snapdragon Windows laptop can edit video in DaVinci Resolve, which has run natively on Windows-on-ARM since version 19. Premiere Pro ran only under emulation in the latest reports we found, so check Adobe’s page first.
What is the best video editor for a laptop?
DaVinci Resolve (free version), Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut for desktop are the common choices. Resolve suits colour work, Premiere suits Adobe-based workflows, and CapCut suits quick social edits.
